Goal-directed spatial navigation and the hippocampus

invité par Frédéric Chavane

Abstract :

In this talk, I will summarize some of our recent results on the properties of hippocampal place cells that emphasize their participation to a neural network dedicated to the coding of spatial information and the computation of optimal paths. This network likely includes head direction cells and grid cells, but also medial prefrontal cells. Our recent data highlight the importance of the communication between the two structures.
